ARTESANTANDER 2025 is the renewed independent art fair that celebrates its 33rd edition next to Sardinero beaches

From July 11 to 15, Santander will become the epicenter of contemporary art, bringing together galleries, artists, publishers and collectors in a vibrant space. We will have an exceptional program with more than 40 national and international galleries, as well as talks, exhibitions and exclusive activities.

ARTESANTANDER promotes a dynamic artistic panorama with galleries and artists that show a varied production: from the great names of art in our country to the most recent works of artists with international recognition, as well as emerging artistic projects, in all techniques and formats.

ARTESANTANDER 2025. Curatorial advisory for the 33rd edition

ARTESANTANDER is pleased to announce the professionals who will advise the fair's organization in the selection of participating galleries in its 33rd edition. With a consolidated track record in various fields: exhibition curating, art market, university teaching, etc. our experts provide diverse criteria based on multidisciplinary, Spanish and international experience.

Joaquín García Martín

Curator

Madrid

Joaquín García Martín has a degree in Art History from the Complutense University of Madrid. He was a gallerist for many years, first at the Helga de Alvear Gallery and then in his own space, garcía | gallery, from 2012 to 2020. Since then, he has focused on his work as a curator and writer on cultural studies. Throughout his career he has collaborated with institutions such as Casa Encendida, ArcoMadrid, Centro Centro, the Reina Sofía Museum and PhotoEspaña. He also created and directed the podcast of interviews with contemporary artists “Hablar normal y corriente”. He writes regularly for specialized art media such as aDesk and for general press such as El País or El periódico de España. His recent projects as curator include “Ensanchar la puerta. Novísimo galerismo en Madrid” in Centro Centro, “Un acercamiento al arte homosexual en la Transición Española” for the José de la Mano gallery in ARCO2024 and “Secundino Hernandez en obras” in the Sala Alcalá 31 of the Community of Madrid in 2025.

Jan-Philipp Fruehsorge

Curator

The Drawing Hub, Berlin

Jan-Philipp Fruehsorge has been active in various fields of the art world for more than three decades. After having worked as an art critic for German newspapers, in 2003 he founded the first gallery in Germany dedicated exclusively to contemporary drawing, which he ran for 12 years. He subsequently founded a non-profit platform, The Drawing Hub, which functions as a network for international drawing projects. As a recognized expert, he has collaborated with galleries and art fairs in Germany, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Spain and France. He has curated exhibitions in Paris, Tokyo, Berlin, London, Maastricht, Rimini and Bristol. For the last four years he has curated the animated film program at FID Marseille and teaches at UWE Bristol, Plymouth University of Art and Bauhaus University Weimar. He currently works as a professor at the Paris College of Art and among his recent curatorial projects are the Biennale di disegno in Rimini and the Holitopia Festival in Berlin.
