Artist and illustrator M. Gutierrez has been showcasing Reviewing Casati, an exhibition made up of artworks that stand out due to the original strokes and gouaches in aquarelles, since last March 13 in Lima, Peru.
Her work is famous because it displays an exquisite balance between studied elements and the spontaneity, which can be shown not only in the stroke, but also in the projection of color that plays a leading role in her work. The pieces make reference to two worlds that are usually blended: art and fashion. Marcela is interested in her main characters and what they project as unquestionable speakers of the contemporary, the in.
In this last series, which include aquarelles and oil paintings, the artist proposes artworks inspired by Marquise Casati, in a contemporary review of portraits taken of her iconic figure in the last century. Legendary Marquise Casati was the most outstanding star of the European society, an icon and signal of her time; she set trends, inspired genius and surprised or scandalized.
