Daniel Mullen "Nothing in Isolation"

Zipper Galeria presents Nothing in Isolation, a solo exhibition by Daniel Mullen. Occupying both floors of the gallery, the show features a new body of work that brings together his meticulous paintings with explorations in new materials: mirrored steel sculptures, porcelain reliefs, and wooden constructions.

Inspired by the phenomenological approach to art, the exhibition proposes an active experience of looking — one that emerges not from static observation, but through relationships between color, surface, light, movement, and presence.

As Mullen His works vibrate in the in-between spaces, reveal themselves at the edges, and shift with proximity.

In his paintings, built from a palette of primary colors, optical instability is activated through geometric repetition and subtle chromatic variation. In the mirrored sculptures, the viewer’s own reflection becomes part of the work. Meanwhile, the porcelain and wooden reliefs reveal structures that change with light and bodily movement in space.

Each piece is a visual and sensory proposition that, rather than imposing itself, invites: to see more slowly, to be together, to experience the present moment.
