Buenos Aires’ Faena Arts Center, owned by Argentinean collector Alan Faena (Buenos Aires, 1965), has just announced its 2015 Faena Arts Award, which in its fourth edition will be calling artists or groups of artists from every corner of Earth to develop original and site-specific projects, to establish a dialogue with architecture and space at that Argentinean space - Faena Arts Center Miami Beach is currently being built-.
Just like in previous editions, this award –the most important one in Argentina – will be counting on a world-class jury. So, with the coordination of Ximena Caminos, executive director of Faena Arts Center, the jury will be made up of the curator of François Pinault Foundation, Caroline Bourgeois; the associate curator of the Contemporary Art Department of Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Rita González; the co-director of Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in New York, Katie Sonnenborn; and Argentinean freelance curator, Sonia Becce. The winning project is going to be given a 25,000-dollar prize for the artist or group of artists and a 50,000-dollar budget to fund the production of the work to be showcased at the Faena Arts Center in 2015.
