The first show of Latin American Artists Exchange program (Spanish acronym ICAL), which kicked off with "No sabe / No contesta"(1), has Colombia as guest country.
We are accompanied by two artists from Bogota’s Mü gallery. Carolina Montejo is one of them and, through her display, she expresses interest in making emphasis on questions and sceneries of her memory. Her work explores or tries to get closer to those images and situations that could be expressed through the body.
This reality can be noticed on "Homenaje a busto retrospectivo de mujer" series. Featuring a surrealist resonance, that generous monument seems to represent that woman that fantasizes with different dreams and illusions. There is no room in this space to detail the richness of the different landscapes carried by those women on their heads, but we can affirm that, by means of the portrait, Carolina describes a world, or should I say, the world of ghosts that lives inside us.
