Madrid doesn’t take a break. We feel, many times in the year, how the city is highlighted by art-specialized media as it hosts fairs, festivals and events of all kinds.
ThreeSeptember days (20 - 22) will represent an opportunity to live a significant moment for contemporary art, with the simultaneous opening of fifty solo and collective exhibitions, as well as a wide-ranging program of activities in museums and art centers to promote Spanish art creations and cultural industries at national and international levels.
APERTURA reaches its third edition, following similar events held all over the world, such as the Gallery Weekend in Berlin or New York, which are key elements of the stronger cores for contemporary art. Once again, it will gather collectors, experts and commissioners from every corner of Earth.
According to the recently-published previous version of the program, the simultaneous inauguration of the galleries is going to take place on Thursday 20th, as well as a cocktail at the Official Architects College of Madrid; while on the 21st the public will have the opportunity to visit the houses of several gallery owners such as Juana de Aizpuruand Rafael Perez Hernando, and enjoy a guided tour through Reina Sofia Museum with it director, Manuel Borja Villel.
2012 Apertura is organized by Arte Madrid (www.artemadrid.com).
