Meet Liene Bosquê, one of the artists featured in the gallery's debut at ArPa 2024

We are happy to announce our debut at ArPa 2024, which takes place at Arena Pacaembu, with works by Liene Bosquê, Guilherme Santos da Silva and Marga Ledora, curated by Heloisa Amaral Peixoto.

We present Liene Bosquê, a Brazilian artist based in the USA for 15 years, who uses the encounter between the body and architecture, textile materials and the environment to create traces and reflections of this relationship - imbuing the material with history and an intense sensory experience, which often involves collaborators/spectators.

Among the highlights are the works in Liene Bosquê's HamacaS series, sculptural textiles that explore the aesthetic and cultural connections and dissonances surrounding hammocks.

Woven collaboratively by Caribbean and Latin immigrants such as Liene, and impregnated with memory, the hamacas tension the boundary between art and craft and bring up issues of territoriality, identity and gender.

We've put together a special Viewing Room on the HamacaS series. Check it out here.
