The programme will be made up of artists and galleries from the region, without being limited to the physical territory, selected by the curators Sara Hermann and Carla Acevedo-Yates.
The Fair, celebrating its 43rd edition from March 6th to 10th in the Exhibition Centre of IFEMA MADRID, will uphold the regular sections of previous editions. National and international galleries have until September 22nd to apply to participate in the General Programme.
ARCOmadrid 2024, organised by IFEMA MADRID, will be held from March 6th to 10th with the Caribbean at its core. The fair’s central project on this edition will focus on exploring galleries and artists with ties to the Caribbean in an expanded view, not limited exclusively to the physical territory. In this spirit, the section, which will keep the fair’s connection to Latin America active, will see the participation of around twenty galleries selected by Sara Hermann and Carla Acevedo-Yates.
With a leading focus on research and discovery, the 43rd edition of ARCOmadrid will maintain the sections of previous years. The artistic content of the General Programme will be made up of galleries selected by the Organising Committee comprising José Aloy -Polígrafa Obra Gràfica-, Elba Benítez -Elba Benítez-, Eduardo Brandão –Vermelho-, Vera Cortês -Vera Cortês-, Henrique Faria -Henrique Faria-, Pedro Maisterra -Maisterravalbuena-, Alex Mor -Mor Charpentier-, Iñigo Navarro -Leandro Navarro-, Sten Nordenhake -Nordenhake-, Silvia Ortiz -Travesía Cuatro- and Rosa Santos -Rosa Santos.
Added to this are the curated sections: Opening will once again stand out for its promotion of the young international gallery scene, bringing together a selection of galleries by Yina Jiménez Suriel and Cristina Anglada. And Never the Same. Latin American Art, curated by Manuela Moscoso and José Esparza Chong Cuy, will continue to investigate the diversity of artistic forms, practices and sensitivities from Latin America.
On the other hand, ArtsLibris, in its drive to incentivise collecting, will once again be positioned as a go-to place for the world of artist publications, self-publications, the photo book and contemporary thinking.
Collecting and the Caribbean will lie at the heart of the analysis and exploration taking place in ARCOmadrid’s Forum and the Professional Meetings.
ARCOmadrid 2024 will be held from March 6th to 10th in halls 7 and 9 of the Exhibition Centre of IFEMA MADRID, dedicating the first three days exclusively to professionals, and from 3pm on Friday the 8th, opening its doors to the general public.
