Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. In Situ: Refik Anadol

Through in situ: Refik Anadol, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao invites visitors to immerse themselves in the dynamic intersection of art, architecture, and AI, redefining the boundaries of contemporary creativity and celebrating the possibilities of a world where machine intelligence amplifies human expression.

The exhibition debuts a new series titled in situ, showcasing ambitious projects by contemporary artists specializing in sculpture, site-specific installations, and multimedia. Living Architecture, Anadol’s installation, transforms open-access imagery and archival materials from Frank Gehry’s architectural projects into dynamic visual narratives using AI-generated forms. It emphasizes the ethical and creative use of machine intelligence in contemporary art, demonstrating Anadol's commitment to blending technological innovation with artistic integrity. The work encourages visitors to explore the connections between memory, creativity, and architecture, portraying AI as a medium of imagination rather than mere replication. The installation also features a custom soundscape by Anadol’s longtime collaborator, Kerim Karaoglu.

The exhibition is supported by 1OF1 as Exhibition Partner; Euskaltel as Technology Partner, and carried out with the collaboration of Google Cloud.
