Maria Jose Jove Foundation has launched a new didactic program, hablar conARTE, included in the area of cultural promotion and artistic education, which tries to foster the creativity and stimulate, through art, the senses of people that suffer from some kind of handicap. That’s the reason why two expression workshops are going to be organized every year, for two or three months, and will be given by professional artists or art experts.
The group [NO IMPORTA], made up of architects, sculptors and photographers, is presently developing the first workshop, which targets students with auditory disability. Through April 30, the participants will be encouraged to reflect on the art and city they live in, by taking three ideas: color, texture and scale. La ciudad percibida, la ciudad interpretadacounts on the collaboration of Acopros, Corunna’s Association to Support Deaf People. Several works that represent the metropolis, which belong to the Foundation’s art collection, represent the most significant way for an interchange between specialists and attendees.
The project is mainly aimed at people older than 14. Groups with different profiles are organized, depending on individual specific needs, so as to arouse senses through the visual language, by developing sensorial perception and stimulating creativity, as well as creation and expression capacities.
The next workshop is going to be held in September.
