pazYcomedias gallery will be exhibiting the work of artists Eduardo Nave (Valencia, 1976) and Juan Millas (Madrid, 1975), March 23 – May 4. The project, titled Peninsula, was conceived as a tour randomly marked through 7,840 kilometers between Spain and Portugal.
Peninsulais the result of the unforeseen, the inexpressible or impossible to translate. It was created between years 2007 and 2010, and, so far, it has been exhibited in Minsk (Belarus), Stockholm (Sweden), Tallinn (Estonia), Krakow (Poland), Manchester and London (United Kingdom), Toulouse (France) and Wuhan (China), as well as 2009 ARCOmadrid contemporary art fair.
Juan Millas got his degree in Art History at the UAM in 2000. He got a master’s degree in photography at EFTI (Madrid, 2002) and in 2005 he founded, along with other 13 artists, the NOPHOTO collective, which a year later received Arco and Revelacion PhotoEspaña 06 awards. Millas has recently exhibited his pieces at the Korea Foundation Cultural Center in Seoul and the Metropolitan Museum of Manila, among others.
On the other hand, Nave studied photography at the Escola d´art i Superior of Disseny, Valencia. He was one of the founding members of NOPHOTO. He is presently a regular collaborator of editorial media in Spain and the world. His work is represented by galleries Pilar Serra (Madrid), pazYcomedias (Valencia) and Juan Silio (Santander). He has been given several awards and scholarships such as the one given by the College of Spain in Paris (2003), the fine arts scholarship of Marcelino Botin Foundation (2004), the CAM (2009) fine arts scholarship, among others.
