An interesting selection of pieces by Cuban artists from different generations and representing an assortment of styles will remain open to the Portuguese public beginning next week. Curated by Roberto Chile, the selection includes works by Enrique Avila, Kamyl Bullaudy, Alain de la Cruz, Adonis Ferro, Jose Fuster, Ernesto Garcia Peña, Eduardo Roca (Choco), Jose Omar Torres, Dausell Valdes and Ernesto Villanueva.
The exhibit, taking place in Vila Real de Santo Antonio, a city on the Spanish border, includes 20 2D audiovisuals from the Tipped Wings project and pursues the objective of getting some media hype in Portugal. Linked to Tipped Wings and other exhibits culled by Chile, designer Jorge Rodriguez (R10) was assigned the making of the exhibition image entitled Color Cuba, as part of cultural tribute organized by the Jose Marti Cultural Society from Cuba and the City Hall of the Portuguese city.
According to Erasmo Lazcano, vice president of the Jose Marti Cultural Society, “once again the message of friendship from the people of Cuba will be coming through Portugal.”
Organizers have said this won’t be the only opportunity for the Cuban art to reach out to this beautiful Portuguese city.
