Swab Barcelona celebrates its 17th edition, set to take place from October 3-6 at the Fira Montjuïc. The fair will host over 70 international and local galleries.
The General Program hosts established galleries, as does the Emerging subsection, for galleries less than 5 years old. In the MYFAF program, Swab awards a free stand to three galleries under two years old with no prior fair experience. Swab also maintains its focus on independent projects like the Seed section, highlighting spaces that emphasize artistic experimentation beyond traditional galleries. The Solo section focuses on independent projects. This edition brings together galleries from Taipei and Barcelona, creating a dialogue between the two regions, under the curatorial direction of Yipei Lee and Carla Jimeno.
Finally, its programs also showcase regions like LATAM, curated by Santiago Gasquet, Tokyo/Seoul Focus by Kelvin Kyun and Video Box Taipei by SUAVEART. These programs explore the connections between the creative realities of these territories, with a special focus on the Asian region.
