The Excelencias Awards were created 13 years ago by Grupo Excelencias, with the aim of promoting excellence in different areas related to tourism, gastronomy and culture in Iberian-America
The Excelencias Awards have become a reference in the field of tourism and gastronomy in Iberian-America. As every year, the event had taken place coinciding with the opening day of the International Fair FITUR Madrid, Spain. As many as 37 projects were awarded in this 13th edition.
Representatives from a dozen countries attended the event. On this occasion, several international personalities met for the Excelencias Awards: His Excellency Mr. Gustavo Santos Minister of Tourism of the Argentina; His Excellency Mr. Federico Ramón Puerta, Ambassador of Argentina to the Kingdom of Spain; Mr. Valentín Díaz Gilligan, Assistant Secretary General of the Presidency of the Nation, His Excellency Mr. Manuel Marrero Cruz, Minister of Tourism of Cuba; His Excellency Mr. Gustavo Machín Gómez, Ambassador of Cuba to Spain; His Excellency Mr. Mauricio Ventura Aragón, Minister of Tourism of Costa Rica, His Excellency Mr. Napoleón Duarte, Tourism Minister of El Salvador; His Excellency Mr. Enrique Ponce de León, Minister of Tourism of Ecuador, Her Excellency Ms. Roberta Lajous Vargas, Ambassador of Mexico to the Kingdom of Spain and the Principality of Andorra; Ms. Gabriela Porras Alor, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of Peru to Spain; Her Excellency Mrs. Marcela Bacigolupo, Minister of Tourism of Paraguay; Mr. Rafael Ansón Oliart, President of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy; Ángel León (Aponiente, 3 Michelin Stars) and Fernanda Fuentes and Andrea Bernardi (Nub, 1 Michelin Star).
