Eight films presented at the San Sebastian Festival rack up a total of 21 Goya Awards

Eight films presented at the San Sebastian Festival were awarded in 21 categories at the 38th edition of the Goya Awards, granted by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences of Spain.

O Corno / The Rye Horn, a project of the residence Ikusmira Berriak directed by Jaione Camborda, which competed in the Official Selection and won the Golden Shell, received the award for Best Newcomer Actress (Janet Novás).

Mientras seas tú, el aquí y ahora de Carme Elias directed by Claudia Pinto, which had its world premiere in San Sebastian, won the Goya for the Best Documentary Feature Film.

Víctor Erice, who received the Donostia Award following the premiere in Cannes of Cerrar los ojos / Close Your Eyes, saw his film honoured with the award for Best Supporting Actor (José Coronado).

La sociedad de la nieve / Society of the Snowwhich was selected in Perlak after its screening at the Venice Festival and winner of the City of Donostia / San Sebastian Audience Award for Best Film, received twelve Goya awards: Best Film, Director (J.A. Bayona), Newcomer Actor (Matías Recalt), Production Direction (Margarita Huguet), Editing (Andrés Gil, Jaume Martí), Cinematography (Pedro Luque), Original Score (Michael Giacchino), Art Direction (Alain Bainée), Makeup and Hairstyling (Ana López-Puigcerver, Belén López-Puigcerver, Montse Ribé), Costume Design (Julio Suárez), Special Effects (Pau Costa, Félix Bergés, Laura Pedro) and Sound (Jorge Adrados, Oriol Tarragó, Marc Orts).

20,000 especies de abejas / 20.000 Species of Beeswhich opened Zinemira after its success in Berlin and Málaga, received the awards for Best New Director and Best Original Screenplay (Estibaliz Urresola) and Best Supporting Actress (Ane Gabarain).

Aunque es de noche / Even Though It's Night, presented in Zabaltegi-Tabakalera was recognized with the Goya for Best Fiction Short Film.

La memoria infinita / The Eternal Memory directed by Maite Alberdi, which was selected for Perlak after being awarded the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize at Sundance, won the Goya for Best Ibero-American Film.

Finally,Anatomie d'une chute / Anatomy of a Fallwhich was part of Perlak after winning the Palme d'Or at Cannes, received the Goya for Best European film.

Actress Sigourney Weaver, Donostia Award in 2016, received the International Goya.
