August is always linked to the sea, the beach and the warmth of the sun. Am gallery-Arte 21, in Almeria, welcomes this month with its exhibition titled Escenas sobre fondo azul-Retrospectiva acuática (Scenes on blue background-Aquatic retrospective), by artist Aurora Rumi.
With an almost-photographic technique and chromatic joy that recalls pop, Escenas sobre fondo azul paints a portrait of the aesthetic of distraction, of relaxed bodies and the inertia of wind and salt. That explains the interest of the author in photographer Carlos Perez Siquier and his colorful characters.
Cut out bodies on the idyllic sea scenery in different horizons that cross each other.
The show is accompanied by Juan Mozos’ Rostros, with the emphasis of color that becomes line in a series of enigmatic characters. Both displays are joined by Rafael Amoros’ undulatory sculptures and Anne Kampchulste’s marble pieces.
Both exhibits are going to be open through late September in Am gallery-Arte 21, c/de las Tiendas, nº 20, Almeria.
