Garikoitz Cuevas (Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Cádiz, 1968) presents his fourth individual exhibition at the Trama Gallery. The exhibition compiles a group of different formats titled “La mordida de Dios” (The God´s bite). The expression bite is used in Mexico referring to the money that police officers receive by some individual to speed up some paperwork in or hide traffic offense.
In this case, the title refers to the bite we pay to God any time we suffer; we lost some beloved person, are cheated or pass through any difficult time in life. According to the artist, these painful experiences are like those bites we pay to God for the fact of being alive.
