Camagüey, Cuba. The ninth edition of the Port au Prince 2014 International Symposium of Artistic Ceramics, will be held here from December 1st to December 15th, announced the president of the organizing committee of the event, Oscar Rodriguez Lasseria.
With permanent offices in this city declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity, about 570 kilometers to the east of Havana, the event (biennial), since its inception has been very open to the expressive possibilities of the participants, said Lasseria.
Additionally, he said, will be devoted to the interplay of artistic ceramics with the image in all its forms (photography, videos, documentaries, conferences) and the presentation of different cultures featured by each participating artist through aesthetic expression of his work.
He explained that it will become gathering and exchange of artists around the arts and human aspects. He highlighted its comprehensive and extended character to other forms such as music, poetry and architecture.
He emphasized that although in each edition is required more technological resources, in the coming will prevail theoretical debates linked to the image and identity of the participating nations.
Lasseria announced it is expected the participation of the most prestigious Cuban ceramists and from other countries.
