In its 2015 edition, #SoloProjects Focus Latin America will be tackling three topics, centered in essential ideas and areas of artistic research and production in terms of Latin American contemporary art.
The team headed by Irene Hofmann and Lucía Sanromán, and made up of Miguel A. López, Kiki Mazzucchelli and Emiliano Valdés,is going to choose the proposals that go deeper into the three topics on the table:
- Legacy of Latin American vanguards
- Rethinking formalism: abstraction and vernacular sources
- Genre performance and research practices in Latin America
The applications to participate can be sent through September 19.
2015ARCOmadrid’s curator team is completed with the announcement of the curators for Solo Projects.
#SoloProjects stands as an artistic research and production space in terms of Latin American contemporary art. Irene Hoffman and Lucía Sanromán will be leading the show, with the participation of Miguel A. López, Kiki Mazzucchelli and Emiliano Valdés.
#Opening, the section devoted to young galleries, will be joined by Chris Sharp as a curator of the section along with Luiza Teixeira de Freitas. This year the section is going to include Spanish galleries handpicked by the curators.
#ArcoColombia will be the guest country with a group of galleries chosen by Juan A. Gaitán and the support provided by Colombia’s Embassy in Spain, Colombia’s Ministry of Culture and Colombia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The program is also going to include Gallery Walks:tours organized to have the public closer to the work of galleries in the city.
The formatofProfessional Meetings has been confirmed as one of the features of ARCOmadrid and that’s the reason why we will intensify its rhythm in 2015 with two halls in the show and we will work hard to strengthen the relation between guests and the show’s contents and programs.

All galleries interested in participating in the General Program of the 34thedition of ARCOmadrid, February 25 - March 1, 2015, can send their application through Monday July 1.
