Caracas City Hall, by means of the Foundation for Culture and Arts, calls all Caracas-based artists and designers to participate in the first show entitled Galeria de Arte Mural Paseo Anauco (Paseo Anauco Mural Art Gallery). The works are to be sent before November 26.
This call backs up the goal of Caracas’ mayor, Jorge Rodriguez, of including unknown creators in different projects. This action is carried out within the framework of Candelaria Plan, which involves a series of improvements in parish that include the aesthetic recovery of this space –it’s being recovered and reused as outdoor gym, park and cycle path. The fruits of this contest will join the 1.300,000 square meters of recovered space.
The display calls all urban artists and designers interested in individually or collectively working on street categories –graffiti, stencils and murals- to send their proposals through galeriaarteurbano2013@gmail.com (PDF format, 300 Dpi resolutions).
Professionals linked to graphic design and urban art will be in charge of curating the works, and the chosen pieces are going to compete for a cash prize, to be awarded to the originality and innovation according to formal and content technical aspects.
The contest’s guidelines can be checked on www.fundarte.gob.ve, contest section. The winners are going to be announced through Diario Ciudad Caracas in late November and the first position is to be given 50,000 bs and a participation diploma, besides having her/his work showcased.
