Beyond the two editions of Art Madrid scheduled for 2013, aimed at the contemporary, Nave del Atico at Chamartin Station will be housing Art MadridMaestros on April 24 – 28, 2013.
With this move, the fair follows present trends of some international prestigious events such as The Armory Show or Frieze. Art from centuries 19th and 20th: painting, sculpture, photography and a selection of decorative arts will be playing the leading role.
With this initiative, Art Madrid tries to offer viewers a selection that allows them to be in touch with art creations from the last two centuries like a timeless art, that doesn’t go out of fashion, resists trends. In this sense, it tries to satisfy the interests of collectors, who ask for quality and concentration, in a space where the academic and the avant-gardes have the same representation.
A section is going to be organized with works valued below three thousand euros to support young collecting. Every exhibitor will be in charge of the selection, within the stand, and it will be signaled so the attendees can easily recognize it.
This is how a historicist vision on art gets fulfilled in Art Madrid, something that will be certainly appreciated by viewers.
