The SEED program offers alternative projects the opportunity to present their practice to a wide and diverse public, beyond their local context. SEED also creates a place of encounter and dialogue that enhances the exchange between the participating spaces, given its experimental and collaborative idiosyncrasy. On the other hand, the presence of these projects within an art fair such as SWAB provides a critical view of the different contexts of creation and exhibition of contemporary art, offering a broad and reflective look at its current practices.
In this past edition, SEED has brought together a wide variety of perspectives from different places and contexts. AllArtNow, with its focus on art as a medium for intercultural dialogue and spaces in Damascus and Stockholm, continues to be a leading example of how alternative spaces contribute to expanding the global artistic conversation. Takeover in Beirut presents itself as a space that encourages constant experimentation and collaborative work, while CASA ESPACIO and OLA LAB in Barcelona have focused on generating an emotional connection with the viewer through common reflection on contemporary social and cultural issues.
Chilli Art Projects, in London, has managed to consolidate itself as a space that gives visibility to international artists from diverse cultures, reflecting on global identities through art. Post Modern Collection, in Amstelveen, has focused on experimentation with scale and materiality, exploring new territories of creation that defy established conventions. On the other hand, SILICA, in Cannes, has generated a dialogue between the works presented, the physical space and its social and urban environment. Meanwhile, NAAN, in Tirana, has committed to building bridges between Balkan art and the rest of the world, encouraging reflection on regional identities.
The Tiny Art Gallery in The Hague has shown the value of the small, with a focus on the creation of artistic objects on minimal scales, while Sorondo Projects, also in Barcelona, has offered a platform for emerging artists from diverse backgrounds, fostering a space for reflection on belonging, displacement and identity in a globalized context.
What unites these spaces is their ability to present artistic proposals that do not necessarily conform to the conventions of the market, but which, at the same time, find in SEED a platform that allows them to connect with global audiences and enrich the contemporary art scene. Thus, SEED is presented as an essential space to explore a wide range of approaches and practices, expanding the proposals that find a space in art fairs and their relationship with other forms of collecting.

Beyond traditional galleries: self-management and opportunity
The art market is a space of change and transformation. Increasingly, artist collectives are finding new forms of agency over the marketing and production of their work. Around SWAB SEED, a program dedicated to independent spaces and new gallery formats, we look at the opportunities and challenges for them to promote their activity in these types of self-managed spaces.
