Nader Sculpture Park Welcomes Sculptures by Oswaldo Vigas

Nader Sculpture Park is pleased to announce the addition of two monumental sculptures by renowned Venezuelan artist Oswaldo Vigas to its permanent collection: "Gran Divinidad Lunar" and "Gran Centaura," both from 1995. These iconic works further enrich the park's cultural offerings, which already feature over 50 monumental sculptures by internationally acclaimed artists.

Oswaldo Vigas (1923-2014) was a prominent figure in 20th-century Latin American art, known for blending elements of pre-Columbian and African heritage. His work spans painting, sculpture, and tapestry, characterized by the depiction of mythical and archetypal figures, especially female forms, reflecting a deep connection to his cultural roots.

Gary Nader, founder of the Nader Sculpture Park, expressed his enthusiasm for this addition: "Vigas's sculptures bring a unique dimension to our collection, connecting the ancestral with the contemporary and enriching the cultural dialogue we promote at Nader Sculpture Park."

"Gran Divinidad Lunar" is an imposing bronze sculpture measuring 240 x 122 x 100 cm, whose asymmetrical monumentality radiates directional volumes of diverse significations. Similarly, "Gran Centaura" is a large-scale work that showcases Vigas's mastery in representing mythical female figures.

Inaugurated in December 2024 in the heart of the Miami Design DistrictNader Sculpture Park has established itself as an open-air gallery that combines art, nature, and community. In addition to exhibiting monumental sculptures, the park serves as a multifunctional space for cultural events, concerts, and other activities, significantly contributing to Miami's artistic landscape.
