Arte Laguna Prize is a contemporary art competition for artists of all ages, nationalities and artistic backgrounds, regardless of gender and with free subject matter. The competition offers numerous opportunities for participating artists to expand their network, gain international visibility and access valuable resources for the development of their careers. With eighteen years of history, Arte Laguna Prize offers artists the opportunity to: exhibit in Venice (Italy) at the Arsenale Nord; win a €10,000 prize; be part of a wide international network of collaborations within the framework of the Special Awards; gain free international visibility; and sell works on Arte Laguna's online platform.
The Prize is open to the following artistic disciplines: painting, sculpture and installation, photography, video art and short films, performance and acting (theater and film), digital art, digital art and cartoon, environmental and territorial art, urban and street art, design.
The jury is composed of leading curators and museum directors: Chris Bayley (curator at Serpentine Gallery); Luca Borriello (director of the Inward National Observatory on Urban Creativity); Chiara Canali (art critic, journalist, independent curator); Claudia Segura Campins (curator of exhibitions and collections at MACBA); Hyunjin Kim (independent curator and writer); Adam Kleinman (director of Kunsthall Trondheim); Abdullah Saleh Yaseen Ali (administrator and curator of public art projects at NCCAL).
With its 4,000 square meters, the evocative spaces of the Arsenale Nord provide the ideal environment to exhibit and promote the best creations of the contemporary art scene. The finalist artists will have the unique opportunity to exhibit their works in the iconic space of the Arsenale Nord in Venice from November 16 to December 8, 2024.
Arte Laguna Prize collaborates each year with high-level international partners to offer artists a wide range of opportunities around the world. Participation in the 16 Special Prizes is free for artists currently applying to the Arte Laguna Prize 19:
