Pinta PArC unbeatable in its 11th edition

Pinta PArC, the contemporary art fair of Lima, which for the fourth year is hosted in the emblematic Casa Prado in Miraflores, has concluded its 11th edition. The fair, which has been declared of interest by the Ministry of Culture of Peru, took place over five days in April as part of the Venice Biennale, where Peruvian artist Roberto Huarcaya represents his country with the project "Cosmic Traces," just as he exhibited a related work in the Special Project in the Hall of Casa Prado at Pinta PArC one year ago.

Once again accompanied by EFG Wealth Management, an excellent cultural program took place both inside and outside the fair, featuring numerous activities and a free tour of institutions and galleries, extending the celebration throughout the city. Among the spaces that participated with activities are MAC, MALI, ENLACE galleries, 8m2 Livia Benavídez, La Mancha Galería, Revolver, NOW:Gallery, LA GALERÍA, among others.

The curatorial team led by Irene Gelfman (Pinta Global Curator) featured prestigious curators who brought renewed perspectives to the uniqueness of each participating gallery. Among them were Florencia Battiti (independent curator and current director of the Parque de la Memoria - Monument to the Victims of State Terrorism, Buenos Aires), curator of the RADAR section; Max Hernández Calvo (Curator and independent researcher, Lima, Peru), curator of the Sculpture GardenFlorencia Portocarrero (Curator and independent researcher, Lima, Peru), curator of the NEXT section; Irene Gelfman, curator of the Video Project "The Persistence of the Self"; Sharon Lerner (Director of MALI), curator of the Special Project: Tribute Artist, and Giuliana Vidarte (curator, historian, and teacher), curator of the Special Project titled "Awakening the Sleeping Dust of Their Ancestors."

Additionally, as part of the FORO, the conversation series coordinated by Giuliana Vidarte, the following invited curators participated as panelists: Laura Hakel (Curator of the Collection and Artistic Projects at the Ama Amoedo Foundation and ISLAA Curatorial Fellow at the New Museum); Beatriz Lemos (Coordinator Curator at the Inhotim Institute); María Eugenia Yllia (Art historian and researcher); Gerardo Castillo (Director of the Doctorate in Anthropology at PUCP and Coordinator of the Anthropology of the City Research Group); Luisa Fernanda Lindo (Writer, curator, and cultural manager); Paulo Dam (Curator and architect); and Jorge Villacorta (Art critic and independent curator).

Institutional Awards and Acquisitions

The institutional awards and acquisitions program of Pinta PArC is promoted through national and international institutions and companies that support artistic creation by sponsoring art awards.

Among them are:

> NEXT Award, which, due to the high level of excellence of the proposals, was considered necessary to tie between two galleries: Salón Comunal (Bogotá, Colombia) and Remota (Salta, Argentina). The prestigious jury was composed of curators Beatriz Lemos (Coordinator Curator at Inhotim), Laura Hakel (Curator of the Collection and Artistic Projects at the Ama Amoedo Foundation and ISLAA Curatorial Fellow at the New Museum, New York, USA), and Peruvian artist Gilda Mantilla

Additionally, for the first time, a Special Mention was awarded to the best booth in the RADAR Section. Sponsored by Unicoin, this mention was awarded to COTT Gallery (Buenos Aires, Argentina), which exhibited proposals that invite reflection on society and the individual, and reflect on the world we live in. The jury consisted of Max Hernández Calvo (Independent curator and researcher from Lima, Peru) and Irene Gelfman (Global Curator Pinta), who unanimously praised the excellence of the section and highlighted COTT Gallery for the dialogue proposed between both artists and for the intervention by Lucila that generates a deeper connection with the viewer. This mention is made possible thanks to Unicoin, which, in partnership with Pinta PArC, seeks to support the international artistic community and foster connections between the art world and cryptocurrencies.

> EFG Latin America Art Award. Miguel Aguirre with his work "Lima I. From the Hardscape Series," 2024, from Daniel Cuevas Gallery, is the nominated work for the EFG Latin America Art Award. The jury was composed of Celia Sredni de Birbragher, Editor-in-Chief and Director of ArtNexus, and curator Sharon Lerner.

> Jorge M. Perez Collection. Argentine collector and philanthropist businessman Jorge M. Peréz acquired works for his collection at Espacio 23 in Miami. Among the purchases made by this prominent figure in Latin America are works by María Ossandón from Aninat Gallery (Santiago, Chile), Gonzalo Hernández from Vigil Gonzales Gallery (Cusco, Peru | Buenos Aires, Argentina), and Mateo Cohen from Salón Comunal (Bogotá, Colombia).

> CC17 Inmobiliaria. Additionally, consolidating its contribution to culture and artistic creation, CC17 Inmobiliaria, who for the second consecutive year is the official sponsor of Pinta PArC, acquired two works by Peruvian artist Patrick Tschudi from Forum Gallery (Lima, Peru), reaffirming strong support for the expansion of art and the national scene.

In addition to the institutional acquisitions, the fair hosted an international delegation with collectors from Brazil, Spain, Mexico, Portugal, USA, Uruguay, Colombia, Chile, and Argentina, among others. Furthermore, the distinguished visit to the fair by the Argentine Embassy in Peru was witnessed, praising the representation of the 13 Argentine galleries at Pinta PArC, among many other corporate groups and institutions.

We would like to thank the sponsors of the fair: EFG Wealth Management, Audi, Unicoin, CC17 Inmobiliaria, Hilton Lima Miraflores, Miraflores Park Belmond Hotel, Aloft Hotel, Hotel B, Atemporal, RC Law, Bottega Dasso, Book Vivant, mónimo, Coleccionista Coffee, ICPNA, Corriente Alterna, MAC, MALI, Markham College, Ministry of Culture, and the Municipality of Miraflores.
