Lima.- Groups from 12 Latin America, African and European countries will participate this week in the 17th International Festival of Folklore Dance of University Groups- World Festival of Folklore, to be held in the Peruvian city of Trujillo.
Along with the Peruvian groups, organizers mentioned the participation of Ballet Folklorico Antumapu-Universidad de Chile (Chile), Grupo de Danzas Folkloricas Carmen Lopez from Universidad del Valle (Colombia) and Compañia de Espectaculos Artisticos Latin Pride (Cuba).
The festival will also be attended by the school McConnell Irish Dancers (Ireland), Ballet Folklorico de la Universidad de Guanajuato (Mexico), Group Resovia Saltans (Poland), Grupo Itakyry (Paraguay), Rusalka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble (Ukrainea) and Ballet Folklorico Gardeleando (Uruguay).
Escuela de Flamenco Margarita Villalobos (Spain), Centro Cultural Tradi Arte (Ecuador), Escuela de Salsa El Balcon de los Artistas (Colombia) and the Ballet Sory Camara (Senegal) will also participate in the event.
Lucila Zanelli, coordinator of the festival organized by the state University of Trujillo, said that the festival will be held from Wednesday to next Monday seeking to protect, value and promote folklore.
