The Excellencies Group met between June 22 and 24 in Havana, in the Memories Miramar Havana Hotel at the best chefs, bartenders, maîtres, sommeliers and food workers of Cuba and other nations of the world the V International Gastronomic Seminar Excellencies Havana 2015, convened to discuss on cuisine, cocktails and modern sommelier, gastronomic communication and new scenarios of the Cuban restoration.
For the first time this event was attended by the Spanish Chef Sergio Torres, Estrella Michelin y Tres Soles Repsol, who offered the participants a lecture on new trends in the international cuisine, and culinary business management.
Another special guest was the gastronomic journalist Pablo Marquez, who spoke about the new trends and food journalism formats in the world and its didactic function on Internet.
Chef Claudio Ferrer was also invited, president of the WACS for Latin, appellant personality in the seminars of Excellencies, this time he devoted his speech to new equipment and technologies in the kitchen for gastronomic products of higher quality with local inputs.
Suppliers and distributors of food and beverages also participated as well as managers, chefs, bartenders and maîtres of hotel chains restaurants; employees of private restaurants, and entrepreneurs and executives of agencies and related entities tourism and services.
The event included lectures, spaces for exchange of individual experiences of conservators and sessions of tastings and pairings of different products, and the final competition to choose the Excellencies Taster 2015 and 15x15 Competition, this time dedicated to creative tapas.
The Excellencies group called the event besides the Tourism Training System of Ministry of Tourism (FORMATUR), the Federation of Culinary Associations of the Republic of Cuba, the Association of Bartenders of Cuba and Cuba Sommelier Club.
Gastronomic Seminars organized by the Group Excellencies are supported by the Latin American Academy of Gastronomy, which the Group Editor Excellencies President, Don Jose Carlos de Santiago, is Ambassador for Latin America and the Caribbean.
