Philadelphia Assembled is an expansive project that tells a story of radical community building and active resistance. Initiated by artist Jeanne van Heeswijk alongside an extensive network of collaborators—including artists, writers, builders, storytellers, gardeners, healers, and activists— the project aims to shape a collective narrative about the city of Philadelphia and some of the most urgent issues it faces at a time of heightened transformation.
In this spirit, Philadelphia Assembled brings together voices of those who care about the changing landscape of Philadelphia and seek to champion a prosperous and equitable future for all of its citizens.
Following this spring season of city-wide programs, the project will culminate in a participatory installation at the Philadelphia Museum of Art that will run from September 10 through December 10, 2017.
