With six films from Portuguese-speaking countries, the 2nd Film Festival will take place in this capital city from May 9th to 13th, according to its organizers.
The event, to be held at the movie theater 23 y 12, is included in the activities for the World Day for the Portuguese Language and Culture, which is celebrated on May 5th.
Antonio Mazon, film critic and screening specialist at the Cuban Cinematheque, said that countries as Brazil, Portugal, Timor Leste, Cape Verde, Angola and Mozambique will join this occasion to offer cultural products that stand out for their diversity, while displaying realities and situations from the great Portuguese-speaking community.
Izabel Cury, cultural attache of the Brazilian Embassy in Cuba, said that there will be a music performance by Cuban, Angolan and Brazilian artists, with a varied repertoire in Portuguese.
The performance is scheduled for May 8th at the National Museum of Fine Arts.
