Renowned Musical Producers To Meet in Havana

Havana, Cuba.- The 3rd Edition of the AM-PM America for its Music event is scheduled from June 12th to the 18th in Havana with the participation of some 30 Cuban and foreign musical producers.

The event’s professionals, dedicated to the Musical and Engineering Sound Production, exchanged on their experiences in the sector, announced on Tuesday Darsi Fernandez of the organizing committee.

The program proposes training courses, projects, showcases, concerts, audiovisual and exhibition samples.

Among the event’s proposals is a musical and engineering production, offered by professors of the prestigious US Berkeley College of Music.

Open debates on music and technology will also be held with important figures like Ady Harley and Richard Strasser; and the Audio Engineering Society, only professional society with an international character dedicated to audio technology to offer a conference on the 17th.

The Fabrica de Arte Cubano (FAC), site of the event, will also host a meeting between producers that will debate among other issues, experiences, tendencies and challenges of the general panorama of musical production in Latin America.

Among the panelists from the region are Ernesto Santos and Juancho Valencia, from Colombia; Eduardo Cabra (Calle 13 group), Puerto Rico; Christian Heyne from Chile; Andres Levin, Venezuela; and Cuban Joaquin Betancourt, Edesio Alejandro and Robertico Carcasses.

Cuban groups like Sweet Lizzy Project and Willliam Robejo’s Trio, Tormenta (Chile), Mateo Kingman (Ecuador) and Ceu (Brazil) will perform at the FAC during the week.

AM-PM is a meeting platform for the professionals of Latin American music that look to promote the creative regional sound and the exchange among professionals of the sector and connect to Cuba with a dynamic scenario of the continent.
