Artists for the 43rd (Inter) National Artists Workshop (SNA), Colombia, Chosen

The 43rd (Inter) National Artists Workshop [known – unknown], the most representative arts event in Colombia, was launched on Tuesday July 9 during a press conference held at Medellin.

This time, the 43rd SNA sheds light on the joint work carried out by the national and international curatorial committee made up of Mariangela Mendez, Director of Art, Javier Mejia, Oscar Roldan Alzate, Florencia Malbran from Argentina and Rodrigo Moura e Silva from Brazil.

Nearly 100 artists were selected for the 43rd edition of the (Inter) National Artists Workshop [Known – Unknown], to take place in Antioquia September 6 – November 3, 2013. This exhibition platform is the most important one in the country and includes academic events and spaces for international and national exchange.

“Knowing the Unknown“

With this idea the curatorial team invites the society to enjoy an exhibition experience aimed at promoting the work of artists. ‘There are many things we don’t know and artists teach us how to re-cognize and reread our ideas’, director of art and curator Mariangela Mendez commented during the cutting-ribbon ceremony of the 43rd SNA.

The Museum of Antioquia, Medellin’s Museum of Modern Art and Antioquia building, former head office of La Naviera Gran Colombiana, will be hosting this event, Sept. 6 – Nov. 3, at the capital of Antioquia.
