In an effort to support international contemporary art and in order to promote an increasingly important collection, Swiss high watchmaking manufacturer Audemars Piguet is going to award a prize, within the framework of ARCOmadrid 2013, to a project that follows the spirit of the brand’s message: To break the rules, you must first master them.
The prize targets the production of an artwork, with a value of 15,000€, and the winner is going to be handpicked by a jury headed by Carlos Urroz, director of ARCOmadrid, Octavio Garcia, artistic director of Audemars Piguet, Fietta Jarque, art critic for El Pais newspaper; Luis Garcia Fraile, architect and Agustin Perez-Rubio, director of MUSAC.
The jury’s decision is going to be delivered during the press conference to be held by ARCOmadrid on November 22 in Istanbul.
ARCOmadrid is going to take place on February 13-17. The award-winning work will be exhibited in Audemars Piguet space at the Fair’s VIP Hall.
