Havana – Tomorrow at 4:00 pm, the Insular Rhapsody exhibit by Cuban artist Juan Suarez Blanco will open at the Palacio de Lombillo, Cathedral Square, in the historic core of Old Havana.
The 15-piece exhibition deals with cityscapes and consists of artwork made in mixed techniques: acrylic and oil on canvas. Through this exhibition the author pays tribute to the three teachers who “contributed decisively to my formation as an artist and human being: Rene Portocarrero, Joaquin Torres Garcia and Italy’s Juan Bautista Piranesi.”
Open to the public through January 2011, the exhibition sets a turning point in the work of this artist from the province of Pinar del Rio who’s basically known for his objects and installations.
