Intermediae is going to premiere, on Tuesday 15, at 20 hours, Más allá de la verdad (Beyond the Truth), the first movie of Fabrica de Cine sin Autor, a collective and horizontal movie making space that has been working for a year in Intermediae / Matadero Madrid. Mas alla de la verdad tackles the love, disease, repentant and death of Gioacchino di Blasi, a 79-year-old neighbor of Arganzuela. Gioacchino had never before been in contact with the movie world until the fortuitous talk he held with the team of Cine sin Autor at Legazpi square. That was when he became an actor, scriptwriter and director of the film that tells his own story; from the seminars to the French foreign legion in Algeria, his three marriages and several mistakes he made. In Christmas 2012, he was diagnosed as having terminal cancer and, after some weeks directing and playing the leading role in the movie from his hospital bed, on October 12 Gioacchino gave the project to his wife and daughters.
Mas alla de la verdad is a collectivized audiovisual biography that has counted on the participation, not only of his family and the crew of Cine Sin Autor, but also the public of Fabrica de CsA and Intermediae that has followed the process and contributed with opinions.
October 15th sets the deadline to participate in this open feature film, before the postproduction stage. The final cut will be screened and the family and members of Cine Sin Autor are going to establish a dialogue with any people interested in participating and getting to know the process of collectively reconstructing a life, or part of a life, with images.
Cine sin Autor was born in 2005 as a cultural theory that encouraged a cinematographic artistic practice, a brand-new model of movie making. The creation process is horizontal, so the decisions on preproduction, script, shooting, editing, postproduction and spreading of the final product are analyzed from a progressive collectivization of the process.
The collective is made up of people that work in the worlds of audiovisual, teaching and curating. Two Manifestos published, seven years in multiple cinematographic processes in Madrid, two movies produced and premiered in Medialab-Prado and Reina Sofia and the installation in May 2012 of Fabrica de Cine sin Autor in Intermediæ (Matadero Madrid) consolidate its model. Another five movie making process have been developed over one year, which have been monthly displayed at the cinematheque of Matadero Madrid with the participation of the producers and the general public.
